Manila, something funny on day 1

Something funny with the sense of direction of Manila people. Within 15 min walk area, everyone has twisted map in the head. The taxi driver and I took 30 min on the same street to look for my hotel, Malate penssionne. Looking at the increasing number in taxi meter, I didn’t want to jump off the taxi to walk with my luggage, tho it’s not big. It finally came to my mind that I had the notes from internet, it says that the hotel is next to a Starbucks….it’s how we find it, wierd.

After checking in, time for dinner. I recalled that Robbinson’s is not too far, we passed it when we tried to dig the hotel out. But I need some help to make sure the direction is correct. Unfortunately, 3 people I checked at the hotel reception gave me 3 different direction, including an enthusiastic boy walking out with me to show me the way in the street. My instinct alarmed noisily not being misled by this innocent face. Ha! Go straight down the street and turn right, not turn left immediately!

happiness – Boracay

Of course I deserve a good life. 3 days has passed, smiles still pop. Sinking in the paradise for a week, it all comes back to me how much I should cherish in life. Swimming in light blue water, lying on the white sand, warm smiles, relaxing time at the bar, drunk giggles and being hold gently in those dreams. Well, I’ve forgotten them too long. They are now slowly coming back. I sware to put my every effort to come closer to my desire. I am not afraid of losing, just can’t help crying for how little time left. Go for it, Diane!!

The miss call light is flashing again. Who are you? The message is passionate but a number. Is it today or years ago? What have I missed?

Finally you come back to my dream. In the dream, the tail tells me that you are in good mood. It was a beautiful day there.

Can’t believe that I missed you so much. Looking at your pictures, my tears burst. Where are you now? Pidang? Are you doing well? Wherever you are, I hope you are taken care well.

Birth Control Pills?!

Hope 2 pills of birth control medicine could secure myself for upcoming water activities. ….rafting, surfing, snorkeling…..can’t wait…….,Bali……. But the funny part is that the pill is actually made by female hormone, the one goes high during pregnancy to keep the mother’s body nurturing baby, rather than give it away with period….anyway, the pill mimic the female body pregnant. Due to a bit late for starting the medication, I decided to follow the package insert and took 2 of them, Gynera manufactured by Shering AG…….WRONG DECISION!! I AM then a "pregnant" woman this morning by puking like a juicer! Me! A superwoman. Seldom sick absent from work was beaten by 2 tiny pills!

St Patrick’s Day

Party at Brass Monkey. An interesting Irish occasion for St Patrick’s Day…no idea what it is. They had Irish dance contest, anyone pay NT$118 can jump on the stage to show off. Free shots given away to people from Ireland or people wearing anything green. Two shots if it’s your birthday have green hair or you are wearing a green bra!

We were so excited about the funny dancing presented by the losers on the stage. To see it better, people climbed onto the seats. A drunk touched my ass. My friend told me that he had tried it several times, but it was too crowded, I had no idea. I pushed his hand away and told my friend that I definitely would slap him in the face next time he do it again. Don’t know if they heard it, anyway, they disappeared. Too bad, I already started to imagine my very first fight in the bar…

pray to the goddess of love and marriage

It is full moon Lantern Festival. Praying to the God of Love for meeting her/his half is most effective today. People say that the god sit in Lungshan Temple is efficacious. I prayed to him with a stick of incense, Oreo as tribute (should be something sweet), and asked for the permission of the red string linking prayer to the other half of fate. Everybody asks for only one string as you don’t want complicated relationships linked by different strings. The permission is given when the 2 pieces of moon-shape wood devices thrown on the ground being one facing up the other down for 3 times continuously. It can take almost one hour to be permitted of many people. I spent like only 15 min, surprising my friend who did it before. Started with 3 or 5 times being turned down, a deep breath, I looked into the god’s eyes and asked him concentrated. Viola! He agreed. Thank you god!
